Speaking after the team defeated Liberia 6-1 on Saturday to qualify for the 2013 African Cup of Nations, Abdullahi said he has met with the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation on the way forward for the team and how the team will do well in South Africa and he expects a report from them this week.
“It is very important that we go there and win and we are going to work towards it to make sure that we win the trophy,” says Abdullai
“I must also commend the players, the coaches and Nigeria in general for qualifying for the Nations Cup and not only qualifying but scoring six goals which has not been seen in recent times. It was a good effort and I will advise the team to work hard and see how they can improve on what they have done before the Nations Cup next year.”
Abdullai also called on the NFF to do all within its possible best to make sure that the team performs well in South Africa.
