Amuneke: Yobo's Injury Is A Big Blow To Eagles

Eaglets Assistant Coach Tips Eagles To Qualify Despite His Absence

Ex-Eagles winger, Emmanuel Amuneke has described the last minute injury Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo sustained ahead tomorrow’s AFCON qualifier as a big blow to the team but believes that the team will still not fail to qualify Nigeria for tournament.

The Fernabache of Turkey defender on Tuesday called coach Stephen Keshi to inform him that he will not be available for the crucial match due to injury he sustained in this club’s last weekend’s game.

“It was a bad news for the team and Nigerian fans as a whole because Yobo is the captain and everyone expects
him to come around and join efforts with other players to help Nigeria qualify for the Nations Cup,” says the Golden Eaglets assistant coach.

“But life has to go on and the rest of the players should step out and make Nigerians happy. I know that his role will be felt but I strongly believe that we have a team that can win the match.

“All the players need to do is to have it in mind that a little mistake cost the nation from being part of the last edition and try to avoid it. I know that Liberia will not be easy but we can beat them.
